Clearing bees out of a honey super before harvest usually means either fume boards or blowing them out by hand — this escape does it passively. It mounts over the inner cover hole with 16 angled one-way channels: bees can walk down and out, but struggle to find their way back up.
Attach the escape over the inner cover's center hole, then place the inner cover directly beneath the honey supers you want to clear. Bees move down through the escape and struggle to return, leaving your frames mostly bee-free within a few hours. Don't leave it in place too long — bees are resourceful, and some will eventually find their way back in.
