Also known as a rampin, this is a single-purpose tool built for one job: pressing brass eyelets into the pre-drilled sidebar holes of wooden frames. It's a small part of frame assembly, but it matters — eyelets protect the wood from wire tension, and this punch is what seats them cleanly and securely.
Place an eyelet into the sidebar hole, position the punch over it, and press firmly to seat it in place. Once installed, the eyelet lets you tighten frame wire without the wire digging into or wearing down the wood over time.
