8 oz Muth Jar Corks

The 8 oz Muth Jar Cork is a natural cork closure sized for the opening of our 8 oz Glass Muth Jar. The cork presses into the jar neck and holds a snug seal — no wax coating required, though some beekeepers dip the cork in melted beeswax before inserting for a tighter seal and a more finished presentation. The cork can be removed and replaced, which makes it practical for retail customers who want to reseal a partially used jar.

One thing we emphasize on both the jar and cork listings: the 8 oz and 16 oz Muth jars use different cork sizes. They are not interchangeable. If you order the wrong size, the cork won't seal correctly — it'll either be too loose or too tight to seat properly. If you're running both jar sizes, you need a separate cork order for each. The 8 oz cork dimensions are approximately 1.13 × 1 × 1 inch.
